THERAPY FOR CHILDREN

Oftentimes children are "doing the best they can with what they've got," meaning their unwanted behaviors (i.e. misbehaving, yelling, cutting, lying) are because they have no other way to manage big feelings. Supporting children through navigating life's challenging moments takes a creative and playful approach. It is common that your child (i.e. ages 5+) will engage in therapy integrating modalities like art therapy and play therapy in combination with talk therapy. Child therapy may also involve caregiver consultation and support so that skills learned in the office can translate to other settings. We believe that with nurturance and time, children can emerge more self-aware, more self-confident, and more equipped to tackle the world.

THERAPY FOR TEENS

Being a teenager is hard--there are so many expectations and so many changes happening within their orbits. Sometimes teens seek a trusted sounding board to navigate their stress around school or friends, and other times, teens may be expressing big behaviors (i.e. isolating, constantly worrying, self-harming) to communicate that they are not okay. Whatever your teen's current challenge, we provide consistent, empathetic care to help them build understanding and develop tools to weather life's biggest stressors. Some common topics we support in teen therapy include:
  • Anxiety
  • Depression and self-harm
  • PTSD and trauma
  • Self-esteem, self-concept, and body image
  • Identity exploration

THERAPY FOR ADULTS

Sometimes we are our own worst critics. Maybe its the self-defeating thoughts, negative emotions, or unwanted behaviors that we want to shift, but just can't seem to shake. We offer compassionate therapeutic support to help guide adult clients, at whatever place in their life cycle, through whatever challenges they are facing. Some common topics we support:
  • Depression
  • Anxiety & panic attacks
  • Relationship problems
  • Grief & loss
  • Life transitions (college, new job, changing relationships, parenting)
  • Finding or changing careers
For adults clients, telehealth and in-person office visits are available.

THERAPY FOR COUPLES

Do you and your partner feel resentment from facing the same issues over and over with no resolution, or struggle with behavioral patterns like not listening, avoiding each other, and escalating arguments? Maybe it's time to try something new and work through it in couples therapy.
We use evidenced-based approaches to help couples see the interactional patterns that anger and distance each other and, more importantly, to start the process of stepping away from these patterns.  Our focus is then to create greater understanding and expression of emotions to address the root causes of conflict and disconnection.  With thoughtful collaboration, skill building, and a safe place for exploration, couples can rebuild trust, enhance communication, and emerge with a stronger relationship.
